never beat the game using GG or anyother cheating device. play it through clean as crystal, or start all over again. after you beat the game, then use GG or anyother cheating device. if it is withing the SOM cartridge itself, there must be a defect, the ROM might not be functioning properly if your saved games are erased. the ROM (battery) must be replaced. if that's not the problem, then, i guess for some phycological reason, the whole cardridge must be replaced. but other than that, buy a PS2/XBox, you'll be suprised.
now i forget, is thunder gigas the last boss you have to beat in Pureland, in order to get to the beloved "mother tree"?
