It took me three tries. It is a version 2.0 game genie that you need. To find out if it is version 2 or 1, just open it up and look on the chip. Your problem is not likely about your system's chipped deck, considering the fact that only %1 of nintendo's snes systems were made with a chipped deck. you simply need to find one on ebay ( they are pretty cheap for a used one ). I got mine from ebay. The seller was "thenerb". I told him about the versions of the game genie and how to check. They are still on ebay. The auction number is #3038166110. It is only $4.99 buy it now, and $3.95 for shipping! Ask him to make sure that he checks the game genie first and gives you a version 2.0. This solved my problem. I didn't even tell him to give me a certain version ( mainly, because I wasm't aware of a second version ) and it took him only two tries. I guess I got realy lucky. Hope this helps.
